We are a Performing Tap Dance Club
The Sunsationals Tap Dancers have been an active tap
dance club at Sunland Village East since 1990. Our goal as a Club is
to promote tap dancing at Sunland Village East for the enjoyment of the
members and the community. We offer entertainment at SVE social
functions as well as other retirement communities, nursing homes and senior
centers throughout the East Phoenix Valley.
All of our members are "seniors" who enjoy staying
active both mentally and physically.... tap dancing is an excellent way to
do just that! Our members have various tap dancing background; some have
tapped during their younger years, but most have never tapped and are now
fulfilling a lifelong dream to do just that.
We are fortunate to have a very talented and patient tap dance instructor,
Stephani Szoke, who works with us to prepare us for a biannual tap dance
revue which we present at Sunland Village East. Each revue is packed full
of original energetic and creative tap dance routines choreographed by
Stephani especially for our Club members. Classes are held weekly during
our tap season (November through March) and in between classes we have weekly
structured practice sessions.
Senior men and women who live at Sunland Village East or in the neighboring
